Almost 10 years ago (nine years to be exact, so I’m not sure why I don’t just say nine years, but I guess 10 years sounds better), I decided to start documenting my experience battling Lyme disease in “real time,” meaning as I went through the experience. This “documenting” quickly became a book and, since my battle with Lyme lasted many years, the book took many years to write.
LYMEY BASTARD is the book I ended up writing. The book is part memoir, part health & wellness book, so not only is it a truthful account of what it’s like to experience Lyme disease but it’s also very informative. My hope is that readers can both relate to the book but also maybe (hopefully) learn something from it.
Although I will eventually make hard copies of the book available, LYMEY BASTARD probably works best as an eBook since I was careful to cite all the information with clickable footnotes. Also, at the end of each book chapter, I listed sources/links to my research so that readers could easily learn more about each subject without having to dig into nearly two hundred footnotes found at the end of the book.
Anyway, without further ado, here is LYMEY BASTARD: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H4335GVV
And here is a recent Amazon review of LYMEY BASTARD:
"Wow ! this is the most accurate and informative book i have ever read about lyme and i have read a ton!! Not biased in any way and i could relate to so much of it! Please if you think you may have Lyme, know someone that does or just want to understand it a bit this is what you should read. I have been dealing with Lyme for decades and just hope the attention around Lyme continues and expands. I always say Big pharma hasnt figured out how to make $ on it but there are alternatives. thank you Matt!"

LYMEY BASTARD (Amazon book blurb)
Whether you have just been diagnosed with Lyme disease or have been struggling with chronic Lyme for years and find yourself in so-called “Lyme-limbo,” LYMEY BASTARD is a must-read book for you.
LYMEY BASTARD is a unique memoir/health & wellness hybrid written in “real-time,” meaning it was written—not in hindsight—but while Matt Burns was personally suffering from the disease.
Once you begin reading this book, it becomes very clear very fast that battling actual Lyme spirochetes is only a small part of the battle, as the disease unleashes a whole Pandora’s-box-full of other problems that often go overlooked. Such problems include …
Coinfections like Bartonella
Parasitic outbreaks
Heavy metal toxicity
Mold toxicity
Reactivated Herpes viruses
EMF sensitivity
Not to mention the more emotional issues like depression and “Lyme Rage.”
But there is hope. LYMEY BASTARD explores the myriad ways in which one can recover from Lyme disease, not just with conventional antibiotics, but with certain vitamin/herbal supplements, dietary changes, low-impact workouts, “earthing,” homeopathic medicine and many other holistic therapies.
Raw, unfiltered and relatable, LYMEY BASTARD will not only entertain you with its funny, self-deprecating anecdotes but will most likely help you as well!
